Strong ground swell made for a picturesque setting at Shoes for some torrid wave destruction in the September pointscore, with results adding spice to the race for the 2010 titles.

Mulder retained his advantage by claiming second spot, followed by Paul Coady, Steve Cryer, Simon Boylan and Peter Greig.
Boom sets throughout the day gave every competitor the chance to shine, with a side shore wind only making conditions tricky at the end of the day.

Moffat got the major points this time round with some precision surfing coupled with an array of slashing reentries and snaps.
The Super Groms deserve special mention for venturing out in the solid conditions – and turning on an impressive display.

Leah Maclean, as usual, was on the scene to capture all the big moves, over the falls, whitewater shuffles and crash and burn wipeouts. See her superb coverage in the Gallery section.
Simon Boylan earned the Puresea Surf Shop $50 Gift Voucher for his excellent riding to claim a place in the Open final for the first time.
The October pointscore is scheduled for 16-17 October.
