Expect fireworks on the Reef for the second round of the world title bouts on March 10-11.
The fact is, the February event – as exciting as it was – had a lot of competitors dusting off the rust of a three month lay-off from stiff competition.
When you throw in the excesses of the festive season, then it stands to reason that some members were still adjusting to the new year – with not all cylinders working.
The Feb showdowns across Open, Juniors and Groms will be a whole new ball game. Everyone should be definitely more battle ready – and that means higher levels of expressive surfing.
Anyone who had the chance to watch the Quiksilver ASP World title event action on the Gold Coast will be supremely pumped. Some of the moves on display –from both the blokes and the women – were mind bending!
Having said that, if the ASP sent agents to check-out a Shoes comp, it wouldn’t be long before they would be wanting the Reef as a venue for title supremacy!
