Bye bye July, hello August

So much for winter swells, with July a dud for contests.

But moving on, August looms as a good month for the next round of World Championship surfing on the Reef that Rules.

The double dates are 10-11 and 24-25.

The battles for supremacy across Opens, Over 40s and Juniors are beautifully poised, with every contestant still in the running to grab the year-end trophies.

And not far away is the annual Battle of the Reefs, with The Point Club hosting the September clash.

Shoes will be aiming to claim a fourth victory.

Also, Guy Turner is working on a separate one-day clash of the titans to be held in August or September to mark the 50^th anniversary of Club Shoes, and held in honour of our Patron for Life, the one and only Dr John Murray. Details to follow in the coming weeks.
