Champions To Be Crowned

A ripper year of performances will be celebrated at the annual Shoes presentation night on Friday.

The Top Six placegetters in all three divisions will be honoured.

The battle for all those positions was a hard fought over seven comps (Open), eight (Junior) and nine (SuperGroms).

We had some great waves over the season, and some crap waves. Mother Nature was both cooperative and uncooperative, but that’s life at The Reef.

Under the governing rules, the 2009 Champions in all three divisions were based on total points (for Open and Junior) and adjusted points (SuperGroms). The rules are that no points are deducted from totals if there are eight events or less.

Friday night will also see the announcement of the winner of the annual Ron Inman Memorial Encouragement Award. This award is for a member who gives their time/energy/expertise; who makes that extra effort, or makes a difference.

The championship year has been terrific on many fronts…the high level of surfing; the energy of the SuperGroms; increased interest and participation of parents; new members; the website; photo and video galleries….

Friday night will be grand. From 6pm onwards at the South Cronulla Bowling Club. All welcome!
