Shoes is an expanding empire!
Just check the rising number of grommet riders taking to the waves – most of them the sons and/or daughters of Club members.
It’s a great development, and augurs well for the future.
Adds to the “family” nature of the Club; is providing a much-needed female element, means more parent interest and involvement, and Club Secretary John Hvass just loves banking those extra fees!
And, for the first time in its 40 year history, it’s allowed the Club to introduce a new division – the Super Groms.
The youngsters get to surf the reef with only four riders in the water – what a way to learn!
But the expansion is not just about grommets…the roll-up has also been extended by the return of past members – for example, Ben and Daniel Cook, Matt Holman and Neal Coleman.
Yeah, it means potentially more riders in the line-up. But more is better if the riders are true blue members.
Adds to the conversation, as well (at least for us older diplomatic dudes that don’t want/can’t catch every wave!).
A big, big thank you to Leah Maclean (wife of Macca) for providing her time and expertise to design and implement this new Sandshoes website.
And to Paul for providing video and photos.

Thanks for the wrap Sid. I’m looking forward to putting up some of my photos as well as more of Paul’s videos. Would definitely welcome more bits and pieces from everyone – it will just make the site more interesting.
