One of the club’s most inspiring and admired youngsters, Jackson Hickey, continues to put up a monumental fight against cancer.
The happy go lucky Grommet has been in and out of hospital since last October, facing up to a disease that shows no mercy.
His dad Peter reports that Jackson has been brave and upbeat throughout his ordeal, facing up to an ongoing range of treatments.
A defining aspect of his battle, and a chief driving force, is his determination to get back to surfing at the Reef, and riding his new PCC Surfboard provided by Shoes sponsor Stuart Patterson.
As many of you will recall, Jackson was awarded the Outstanding Performance Award at the Club’s 2016 season Presentation Night for his contribution to the monthly contests – his passion for competing, his friendly manner and nature, his go-with-the flow approach to winning and losing, his big smile and very supportive outlook.
The Club and its members are with him all the way!!
