Reigning Open Champion Jack Irvin has sent a message that he will go for broke to retain his crown, with a stunning performance in the April pointscore.
Irvin turned on the fireworks to gain maximum points to put Jarrod Horner’s early season challenge under pressure.
He outpointed Tom Mulder, Dave Halyard and Matt Bradley in a see-sawing final, held in some boom waves.
Harrison Martin pulled out all stops to gain the upper hand in the Junior Final. His backside attack held off a rampaging Jesse Horner, Reece Moffat, Nathan Hatheier and Andrew Petoumenos in a hard fought showdown.
Nathan Martin keeps getting better and better and stormed open in the Super Groms final.
He held-off a strong set of performances by Ethan Jackson, Shannon Hatheier and Jae Withers.
Next round is on 2-3 May; and if no waves that weekend it’s 15-16 May.
