One of the Club’s many special Grommet members – Jackson Hickey – has been fighting a brave battle against cancer.
For the past four months, he has been in and out of Prince of Wales Hospital receiving Chemotherapy. He is currently receiving his fifth round of treatment.
Jackson’s dad Peter has let us know that if this round is successful then Jackson would need one more round only, assuming he is given the “all clear”.
It would need to take it easy in March, but then aim to be back in the surf on The Reef that Rules in April.
If that’s the case, and here’s hoping it is, then the April World Contest will be named in his honour.
Jackson knows that all club members and family and friends and with him all the way!
