The SuperGroms blasted out of the blocks to start Season 2014 on a mighty high, with small clean waves providing a decent seascape to unleash all the heavy duty manouevres.
Jarvis Earle picked-up where he left off at the end of last season, with a solid performance from start to finish to claim his maiden victory as a Shoes member.
The pocket rocket, brother of defending Groms Champion Dion Earle, reinforced why he was selected for the prestigious Ron Inman Memorial Encouragement Award at the 2013 Presentation Night, pipping Blake Sawtell, Henry Fuller and Dane Coady in a magnificent final.
The Groms showdown boasted a wealth of dazzling performances that had the judges working hard to pick the frontrunners in every heat.
Casey Earle and Caitlan Campbell gave the boys a tough work-out, with Casey making the semi-finals and Caitlan just missing out from advancing.
With a number of Groms from season 2013 moving from the Under 14s to the Juniors division, a whole new brigade have moved in to ensure that the battle for the crown this year is going to be north of awesome!
For the Juniors and Open surfers, it is on to 22-23 February for the official start of their championship races. Be there or be sad!
Shoes says a big THANK YOU to its glorious sponsors: Dr John Murray Dental Service, Only Organic Foods, WJ Partners, Lipman Construction, Tengirri Surf Charters
