2007 Club Champion, John Tucker, was at his fiery best in winning the final of the 45s division of the Quiksilver King of the Beach tournament on the weekend.
Tucker took the tricky Alley conditions apart to blitz the competition and lift the spirits of the Shoes squad members that endured heavy rain squalls and unpredictable waves to give the contest their best shot.
JT is a contest specialist and knows the Alley lefts like the back of his hand. His opponents never got close.
The Club, at one stage running third, finished up in fifth spot. Elouera was the overall Champion.
Peter Hvass scored a strong third placing in his Open heat to make the final, and Mel Hatheier, a late replacement for Mel Withers, did incredibly well to place 3rd in the Women’s final.
Hats off to squad members, including Matt Cook, Jack Irvin, Matt Holman, Jeff Waterfield, Matt Mulder, Jesse Horner, Michael Durante, Peter David Halyard and Marty Shipley.
A big thank you to members (including Macca, Mark Campbell, Greg Farrow, Drew Kelly and Peter Rackmann), and the dads of members (including Paul Harrison and Dean Jackson) for showing up so early to help set-up the contest site.
PLEASE NOTE:
1. ALL THE CLUB ACTION IS BACK-ON THIS WEEKEND FOR THE JUNE POINTSCORE
2. EXAMPLES OF THE NEW HOODIE WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE CONTEST, AND ORDERS TAKEN. $38 EACH.
