The waves were either too big or too small to allow the April pointscore event to proceed – so it’s on to May for the next big showdown.
The weekend of 9-10 May is the date to put in the calendar, as the battle royale for the 2009 championships hots up.
Matt Holman holds down the No 1 slot in the Opens, with 32 points, after taking out the March final from Jack Irvin, Jarrod Horner, Drew Kelly, Damien O’Connor and Marty Shipley.
Matt is just five points clear of Jack, with Drew a further three points back.
Jesse Horne, with a victory in March, has the upper hand in the juniors with 24 points – five points adrift of Jacob Boylan (3rd place in March) and Harrison Martin (2nd in March), and 10 ahead of Reece Moffat.
The new Super Groms division has had two events so far for this year’s title. The April event saw Dion Earle defeat Ben Boylan, Jae Withers and Shannon Hatheier in the final.
Ben leads the race with 23 points, followed by Nathan Martin and Andrew Petoumenos on 14 and Shannon and Jae on 13.
