The greater Shoes Family are invited to a ceremony to say our farewells to our much loved and admired Club Patron, Dr John Murray.
We will be honouring John at the Sandshoes/Oak Park Pavilion on Sunday 12 June at 12.30pm.
It will be an opportunity to remember and reflect on a special man, friend, husband, father…a surfer who made every wave a winner…who relished life…a man who gave so much to many.
Dr John just wasn’t a Club sponsor and member, he was an inspiration, the epitome of a good bloke, a guy who shared and cared.
The Reef was part of his life, a place he cherished, where he happily met with and soaked up the buzz of nailing swells big and small as part of the Shoes brigade of young and old.
The ceremony will feature a traditional paddle-out by all those who wish to participate; where wreathes will be set afloat and John’s contributions discussed and cherished.
If there’s swell, no doubt participants will be catching waves for John.
The Club has booked South Cronulla Bowling Club from 1pm to 5pm for all and sundry to catch-up and share the many stories of John’s life, career, passions.
