The Shoes Club just keeps surprising the world.
Not only is it home to one of the great reef breaks of all time, but is blessed with the fastest board paddlers.
The truth of that statement was underscored on the weekend when members were front and centre in the Red Bull Heli-Surf paddle race at North Cronulla.
Over a 300 metre course, Matt Holman blitzed a field of some 70 competitors to win handsomely.
Tyler Barnes came in fourth, Reece Moffat fifth and Drew Kelly 10th!
SuperGrom Spencer Barnes placed 20th, to be the fastest youngster!
For his victory, Holman got to travel in the Red Bull helicopter down to a secret surf spot on the South Coast.
There are reports, still unconfirmed, that the ‘copter was full of nubile women, but apparently Matt only had eyes and time for checking the wave conditions throughout the flight!
Someone needs to tell Matt that clean, wholesome living is not in the Shoes handbook.
Heartiest congratulations to all competitors for their mighty effort.
